Bios

The current personnel of the HELMSMEN QUARTET from southwestern Michigan:

Paul Richmond is the tenor for the group. His love for music started at 4 years old when, once a week, his father allowed him and his brothers to tag along as he sang in a Barbershop Chorus and their family quartet. Paul took up cello in 5th grade and later played in both the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony and Kalamazoo Symphony. Paul and Lori are married with 4 children and 7 grandchildren. He loves harmony and teaching 4-part harmony to youth.

John Davis is from Sturgis, Michigan sings lead. He has been involved in the musicals at the Blue Gate Theatre in Shipshewana, IN, and is currently emceeing some of the shows.  John and Roseann are married and have four children, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dave McKeith is our Baritone singer, music coach, sound technician, and vocalist. He and his wife have two children and two grandchildren. Dave is a trained music educator, BA from Wayne State University, MA from Western Michigan University. His major instrument is trombone but he also plays guitar, banjo and mandolin.

David Tuckey sings lead vocal and also plays the piano for the group on occasion. He was a double major in college and is a Vietnam Veteran. He lives in Angola, Indiana with his wife Danise. They have 7 children and many grandchildren. David is retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier and loved his job. He has sung with and directed barbershop and Sweet Adeline Choruses. David also gives voice lessons.
